Assurance Processes
Software problems
are 100 to 1000 times more expensive to find and repair after
deployment than beforehand. For this reason, it is important
to continuously assess the quality of a software system with
respect to its functionality, reliability and performance.

systematic set of problem-prevention activities that modify
IT development processes to prevent introduction of flaws.
Monitoring and improving the software engineering process,
making sure that any agreed-upon standards and procedures
